Sometimes, someone does something that probably wouldn't bother you if it came from anyone else.
But because it's your friend, it does.
And still, you let it slide.
They're sensitive. You don't want to hurt their feelings. You don't want to make a big deal out of something that might seem insignificant to someone else.
So you say, “It's fine.”
Until it happens again.
And again.
And suddenly, you're not angry about what they did today. You're angry about all the things you've been quietly excusing.
Maybe the problem isn't that we're too sensitive.
Maybe we've just been saying “it's fine” when it really isn't.
And sometimes, being honest isn't about picking a fight.
It's simply giving the other person a chance to know where the line is.
