School is supposed to be about learning.
But sometimes, it feels like so much more than that.
As students, people often assume we have very little to worry about. We are in school, we have food, accommodation, fees are being paid, we receive allowances, and life should be straightforward.
And yes, we are grateful for those things.
But being provided for does not mean being without problems.
We are still human.
We struggle with academics. We deal with expectations. We question ourselves. We feel pressure to succeed. We experience disappointment, loneliness and moments where we simply don't know what we're doing.
Sometimes, you work extremely hard for something. You give it everything you have. You sacrifice, prepare, hope and pray.
And you still don't get what you wanted.
Sometimes, you do get it, and somehow you still wonder if you deserve it.
Sometimes, you can be excited to return because you missed your friends, your people and your routine, while another part of you is dreading the environment you're returning to.
Because some places hold memories.
And sometimes, school can feel like a cage in your mind even when everyone around you thinks you're perfectly fine.
Maybe what students need isn't always another reminder to “do better.”
Sometimes, we need to be understood.
Because being a genius doesn't mean having everything figured out.
It means being human enough to learn, struggle, grow, fail, try again and still keep becoming.
So, to every student returning to school: you don't have to have it all figured out.
You're still becoming and that's just fine🤍🤍.
