Life is very crazy and unpredictable, one week you're balling and the next week your account balance is shaking.
Bro to bro, we know business, work and gigs are heavy hard right now especially in this current economic looking at its realities and problems, my advise for my bros is very simple all is easy and the worse events are averted by doing only one thing PLANNING. To you all, these may be mere eight words but to me, these are a lifeline that has saved me from financial, academic and other serious life issues.
I learned how to plan effectively since I gained admission in 2023, I was only fifteen then, in another state, three states far from home, in a new terrain, a new environment and I had to conquer — adjusting to life there was tough, I had ups and downs but I can tell you I AM UP and I CAN NEVER fall AGAIN.
What helped me — PLANNING. Mondays to Saturdays I read, Sunday was my day off, I played PS4 and planned my week ahead, I budgeted how much I might potentially spend that week.
I also started looking at my life like university and after a lot of talks with friends, family and mentors I've started planning the way forward so that when life and reality dawns on me I won't be stranded.
The reason we ought to plan as men is because unlike our female counterparts we are going to be harder, less support from family, more stress, less time for pleasures, more thought into the future, higher societal pressure and more. Also, we will soon be fathers if we can't plan effectively for ourselves how do we plan when a family is involved and the painful part is no one is coming to save you!
It's not easy but my brief steps to achieving this are:
Giving your life a deep thought and envisioning where you plan to be after a particular time frame.
List out and begin to actualize the steps that'll lead you there.
Involve friends and mentors to serve as accountability partners.
Breakdown these big steps into smaller goals that are achievable within short time frames.
Give those tasks timeframes within which they must be achieved.
Take breaks and avoid burn outs.
Involve God and always have a backup plan.
The process may be hard at first but trust me it'll get easier as time goes on!
