University degree is no longer the key to success in Nigeria.

For many Nigerian students, getting a university degree is seen as the surest path to a good job and a successful life. However, thousands of graduates leave school every year and still struggle to find employment. At the same time, some Nigerians without university degrees are earning well through technology, fashion, content creation, trading, skilled work and entrepreneurship. This has made many young people question whether practical skills, connections, experience and determination now matter more than certificates. Supporters of this motion believe that a degree alone can no longer guarantee success in Nigeria. Opponents argue that university education still provides knowledge, credibility and access to professional opportunities. So, is a university degree still the main key to success in Nigeria, or have skills and experience become more important?
