In our generation now we see all 9-5 workers now as Modern slaves, let me explain why.
First of all they work for someone, Imagine making Millions or Billions per annum and taking peanuts home and that money can barely cover your lifestyle and protect you in case you lose your job.
Secondly, not all Corporate entities pay their aged staffs Pensions or gratuities & even the ones that do how consistent is it & is it sustainable, the answer is no.
Further, unfortunately most people never become rich from a 9-5 and even those that did compounded it with another means of income.
I didn't mean this work to be an attack on 9-5 jobs or workers cause even both my parents and even me myself have found ourselves in such settings. In fact before becoming top-tier entrepreneurs, both my parents used the 9-5s to practice, they treated those businesses as their own and utilized the platforms as training grounds.
Also, there is dignity in labour, Apostle Paul admonished this in the bible and also, I would never shame anyone's hustle as long as the person's hustle is legit and not illegitimate, I'll use my platform to push them.
In tackling the topic, it's actually a thing of the mind and also need serious financial consideration, reading books, searching for knowledge and effective planning.
After I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad, I learnt that ownership is the key to unlocking the type of wealth you want, however, you need to learn how to save, leverage, compound and delay gratification and invest.
At times, building corporations and companies are not easy and it's better one starts easy — what I love about our generation is that we have a lot of young CEOs and entrepreneurs right from secondary schools and universities, and instead of seeing 9-5 as obstacles to their wealth creation, they see it as a tool to expand their wealth, because co-workers are basically potential clients or referees.
However, owning a business is subjective and is not for everyone, so the 9-5 option helps people who are team players and not master-strategists to succeed.
Business management is basically for master-strategists and the multi-taskers can balance everything together.
