Exactly! This is the part I really want more people to understand. Sometimes we focus so much on "What job can I get with this degree?" that we forget to ask "What problem can I solve with what I've learnt?" And I think that shift in mindset is especially important for biochemists and other science graduates. Employment is important, of course, but science also gives us the opportunity to create, improve and find solutions to problems around us. Thank you for adding this perspective. This is exactly the kind of conversation I hoped the article would spark.
