Nobody really prepares you for this part of being a student.
You are trying to pass your courses while figuring out who you are.
You want to save money, but somehow there’s always something that needs ₦2,000😭
Your friends are buying things you can’t afford and you have to learn that “I can’t afford it” is a complete sentence.
Someone is in a relationship and suddenly you are e wondering if you’re missing something.
Someone is making money
Someone is travelling
Someone has 10,000 followers
Someone seems to have their entire life figured out
And you?
You are just trying to survive this semester
Then there’s the pressure to fit in the fear of being left behind, the temptation to make decisions just because everyone else is making them and the quiet struggle of figuring out what you actually want.
Here’s what I’m learning:
Student life is not a competition to see who can look the most successful before graduation.
It’s a season to learn.
Learn how to manage money.
Learn how to say no.
Learn how to choose your friends.
Learn how to love without losing yourself.
Learn how to handle pressure.
Learn how to fail without believing you are a failure.
Learn how to build something before everyone starts clapping for you.
And most importantly, learn that your timeline does not have to look like everybody else’s.

Wow,I love this piece! Well for me,one thing student life has taught me is to never be afraid to accept my flaws,it taught me to embrace them and to accept that it's okay to falter sometimes. I learnt that if I keep letting these flaws hold me down,I won't move forward academically and even spiritually because trust me,uni is a lot!😭
