TEENAGE PREGNANCIES IN AFRICA, MERE MISTAKES OR A SHOW OF YOUTHFUL EXUBERANCE.

Now this is a very sensitive topic and if you know me this is something i love talking about. What is youthful exuberance? According to the Oxford Language Dictionary, exuberance means being full of energy, excitement, joy, and lively cheer, thus youthful exuberance simply means youthful energy, while a mistake is an action, decision, or judgment that is wrong or produces an unwanted or unintentional result. The fun fact is that through youthful exuberance we can make mistakes.

As a teenager, youth or adolescent person they are hormones in your body special ones that get activated especially when you're in that stage and what do they do, they make you develop interest in the opposite gender and then the urges start coming, now this isn't mere theory or heresay I myself have experienced this, in secondary school I was the calm and focused type of kid and even in early university days I never thought or entertained the ideas of having a relationship or partner till I got a bit older and thank God for my parents and self-control if not my life would have been a mess by now.

However, a lot of teenagers are not that lucky, some make that mistake and get to pay for it heavily on the first trial, some after a number of trials, some even lose their womb in bids to abort or even after several abortions.

Asides hormones I feel another major cause of this vice is friendship especially peer pressure, having bad company corrupts good manners they ruin your innocence and your view as a young person and once you are influenced by bad decisions you keep on gradually upgrading on the such acts till you do what is not meant to be done.

Then we also have the internet and social media to blame for all these shenignans, the way they depict and expose bodies and explicit content to minors and allow them to adapt such activities and even practice them before even doing such acts. However, we can't blame them too much because they are equally resources and the depend on how they are used, this takes us to the last set of causes.

The parents, yes a lot of teenagers do these acts under the nose of their parents and that's bad, I feel parents should not treat sex education in their homes as an abomination, they should educate their wards, and be involved in their lives especially when it comes to areas of relationship they should set proper rules and standards and also monitor the movement of their wards without becoming imposing, if we ask most young people about their body counts the replies are surprising which ought not to be.

Let me blow your mind if you're the guy in that type of situation of teenage pregnancy or a girl/lady you'll feel the burden and stigma not but in the society but also bring shame ame disgrace to yourself and family this might not really be the case outside Africa but in our continent here it's a sacrilege!
