NETWORK INTENTIONALLY

Not every person you meet is supposed to become your friend.

Not every connection will become an opportunity.

And honestly, networking is not about collecting contacts like you are collecting followers.

It is about being intentional about the people you meet and the impression you leave behind.

Go to that event.

Introduce yourself.

Ask questions.

Have meaningful conversations.

Tell people what you do.

And most importantly, be useful.

Because sometimes, months after meeting someone they may come across an opportunity and think

“I know someone who can do this.”

You want your name to come to mind.

Not because you forced your way into every conversation, but because you showed up, added value and made an impression.

As students, we sometimes think our network will become important after graduation.

I don't think so.

Build it now.

Your classmates will become professionals.

The people you meet at conferences will grow.

The person sitting beside you at that webinar may be building something you know nothing about yet.

You never really know where a genuine connection can lead.

So, don't just meet people.

Network intentionally.

And while you are building your network, remember:

Don't only ask, “What can this person do for me?”

Also ask:

“What value can I bring to this connection?”

That's the kind of network worth building.
