My Excursion Journeys

In my life as it is, I love travelling a lot, something that keeps my mind and body away from the usual comfort . In my secondary school days, there is always one excursion or the other .

The first excursion I went to in my secondary school was in JSS1, travelling to Abuja by bus, back then Nigeria was a little bit secure and safe. Travelling by bus was a long journey took almost 24 hours to get there and only stopping to pee and all and the threats of we use more than five mins, they would drive us. We got there after midnight and checked in the hotel.

Meanwhile a student sitting in front of me has messed up all over someone's clothes. The humiliation and embarrassment of them all. I was feeling irritated, oh my word. Thank goodness it wasn't me.

Then we lodged into our rooms and it was beyond our expectations literally. We found illegalities and all, quite nasty. The hotels should really be cleaning the rooms before another person lodge in. We slept in a room and before we knew it something was moving under our duvet, it was a bat. We were very scared. How did a bat enter ?

Soon morning came and we saw the wonders of Abuja and it was superb. We went to a waterfall or something and to climb back up on a steep rocky path. I was afraid. What if I fall and boom there goes me. Then a fine guy offered to carry me on his back and I felt like a princess. I was very happy. Best week of my life literally.

Then another one when we travelled to Abeokuta, Lagos and Badagry. We went to climb Olumo Rock and I won't lie laziness is a disease. I was too tired so I complained I was sick so I got inside the bus early, so comfortable. Then also we went to Badagry, the Land of No return, exploring history in its wonders. It was a long journey but worth the journey I assure you.
