Beautiful Mother Africa, an epitome of beauty.
One that mirrors and reflects bright images of life.
You shine as bright as the golden early morning savannah sun.
A symbol of beauty, innocence, resilience, and purity.
The solid pillar upon which the world stands,
It's safe to say you are the world's wife.
Unfortunately, those whom you showed love couldn't reciprocate, instead they hate and look down at you, you want them up but they want you gone.
Clothed in your colour which is solace.
In the ethereal bliss of warmth and sanity.
The one which being your child brings.
It's unfortunate most of your children flee from you instead of them to have you locked in a warm embrace.
You're the most natural of your peers,
Basking in your depths releases tension and stress, it brings clarity.
Your song of eulogy and loud praise names do your children sing.
A very raw and radiant beauty, not the one shown on television.
You don't package, you don't make up,
You mould young dreams and ambitions from the mud up.
You gave us all the chance to dream and envision.
Mama, you encouraged us to reach for the stars at the very top and never stop.
We went on! We moved and we did not flop.
In you we see different climes and humans,
Beautiful infrastructures, systems and cities.
From the Pyramids of Giza to the beautiful cities of Lagos and Capetown.
The beautiful rooftop views in Kenya, Nairobi,
A setting so love strong that it could outshine cupid.
In your palms the great blueprint was given,
In your fingers lies the keys.
However, the rest of the world looks down on you, they see you as a clown.
Mother Africana, you're my muse, one of my joy givers.
My solace and safe space.
You give all of us shelter and warmth when we shiver.
You keep us confident, you hate it when we limit ourselves and hide our face.
You refresh us with your natural views and purge our minds like the flowing streams and rivers.
You keep us clear and happy far away from oppression, shame, and disgrace.
I hope and we all hope to see you improve one day.
We don't need you to be all modern and wipe away your identity,
No, we mean development but not in that way.
Your identity must be preserved and encouraged, but we need to build and profound on it, so it can be relevant till infinity.
Mama Africa, we can't take more insults, especially what all the whites say.
Let's not allow it to get to our head, let's work and one day take back our crown without destroying our identity and losing our sanity.
