This is a topic that is not really talked about, but as the over-sabi boy, I have some reservations on this.
The alternative culture is a set of people who love a distinctive sense of dressing, music, lifestyle, and so on. They have been underground for quite a long time, but they gained popularity late 2024, and since then, they became the talk of the whole continent.
At first, they were jeered at for being authentic and unique, but now they've slowly recruited more members into the movement. Fast forward to today, everyone fucks with underground music—Scottyolorin's "Glacier Girl" is arguably in the song of the summer conversation!
Their fashion is just madly influential, stylish and convenient to wear . Personally speaking, I have about six cropped tops and two upcycled trousers.
Alté fashion is just so unique and has a lot of depth. Alté fashion is not ment—at least not all of it. We should get this clear: there are people who do not understand when to stop, and that's when you see girls overdoing the alté aesthetic.
Funny how those that were hating on the whole alté culture are now fans of the movement, which shows the influence and power of the movement.
Therefore, people of God, learn to love or leave it alone if you don't want to be part of the movement, its not a must you can sit it out, stop judging people's dressing. Naija don hard pass that one!
